Foundations Unit: Build a clock activity

Ready to take a closer look at time? This simple, hands-on activity lets your child build their own clock, emphasizing the order of the numbers and how to tell time to the hour.

What you need:
What to do:

Start by printing out our clock template. On the second sheet, cut out the number squares and the clock hands. Trim the hands to fit your clock.

Show your child how the clock numbers go around the clock, beginning with number 1. Have them glue each number on to the correct space, working on number recognition and sequencing.

Once all the numbers are in place, attach the hands with a brad so they can turn. Show them how you can tell time to the hour using the big and little hands.
