Forest Unit: Parts of a tree craft

We love this tactile craft for reinforcing the parts of the tree! After you complete the craft, discuss the role each part plays in keeping the tree alive and healthy.

Start by cutting a rectangle from your brown paper bag to make the trunk. Twist the paper into a trunk shape and glue to your background paper. Use two smaller pieces of brown paper to form two branches.

Cut or tear small pieces of the green construction paper to make leaves and glue these in place. (This can be a good job for a younger sibling as well!)

Glue strands of brown yarn to the bottom of the tree to create the roots.

Use the marker to label the trunk, branches, leaves, and roots. It should look like this:
